Meet the coaches who build champions

Our coaches don't just teach wrestling moves — they shape character, discipline, and confidence in every athlete.

Not every coach is a mentor

Too many kids train in rooms where coaches only care about winning matches. That kind of pressure burns kids out and leaves parents frustrated. Your child needs coaches who know how to win and how to lead with integrity.

Our Coaches

Ivan Delchev Ivanov

Coach Ivan Delchev Ivanov began wrestling in his native country, Bulgaria.  There he would win five Bulgarian freestyle national championships.  He also won a Bulgarian national championship in Sambo.  Though he had great success as a wrestler, he is quite possibly an even better coach.

In 2006 Coach Delchev was named the Bulgarian Women’s National Team Head Coach.  There he coached three 3rd place finishers at the Cadet European Championship for Women.  He also had one 3rd place finisher in the Junior European Championship for women.

Also, in 2006, Coach Delchev was named an Expert of Wrestling Coaches Education by FILA (wrestling’s world-wide governing body).  From 2007-2008, FILA asked Coach Delchev to be the head coach at the FILA Training Center in Tunisia.  There he would coach the first ever Olympic qualifier from the country of Cameron.

Coach Delchev is responsible for coaching the first ever world champion in beach wrestling in 2009.  He has been recognized by the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation as a Master of the Sport of Wrestling.  In 2013, he coached a 3rd place finisher at the Cadet World Championships.  He also trained his own son, Georgi Ivanov, who became a Bulgarian national champion, two-time NCAA All-American, 2015 World Team member, and 2016 Olympian.

Coach Delchev has developed 8 Olympians, 23 World Team Members, 15 European Team Members, 8 Pan American Team Members, and countless National Champions in multiple countries and in all age groups (17U, 20U, 23U, and Seniors… Men and Women).

Coach Delchev has developed a World Team Member in every club he has been at. Also, in his 17 years in the United States as a coach, Coach Delchev has over 95% success rate in sending full-time High School kids to college on a scholarship.

Georgi I. Ivanov

Prior to Georgi’s arrival to the USA, he was a 4 x Bulgarian National Champion and 2 x European Team Member.

Georgi continued his higher education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he wrestled for the legendary coach Mike Denney. In his time at UNO, before the program was ceased, Georgi became 2 x NCAA All-American, National Finalist, and 2 x Academic All-American.

Georgi finished his undergraduate degree in Business/Marketing at Boise State University. At BSU, Georgi was a 2 x NCAA Qualifier, PAC 12 Champion and an Outstanding Wrestler of the conference.

After the completion of his bachelors degree, Georgi accepted an Associate Head Coaching position at Maryville University in Saint Louis, under his first collegiate coach, Mike Denney.

While Georgi was a full-time coach, he completed his Masters degree in Strategic Communication and Leadership. Simultaneously, Georgi had just married his wife, Whitney Ivanova and travelled back to his home country of Bulgaria to make the World and Olympic Team.

Georgi became a World Team Member for Bulgaria in 2015 and an Olympian in 2016 after taking 2nd at the World Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Mongolia. Georgi become the only Olympian in the sport of wrestling for Lewis Central and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and only the second Olympian for Boise State University.

Lee Oreskovich

Lee Oreskovich is a certified Best Wrestler coach and a proven builder of teams and leaders. After starting a youth-based business from scratch, he scaled it to 50 team members before exiting successfully. Today, Lee operates a multi-million-dollar organization with teams across the U.S. and manages a commercial real estate portfolio valued at over $23 million with 30 tenants.

That same experience in developing high-performing teams now fuels his coaching. Since joining the club, Lee has guided his son through the Best Wrestler system, from not qualifying for state to becoming a U.S. Open runner-up. Families appreciate Lee’s hard charging, no excuses attitude and his ability to combine certified wrestling instruction with the leadership and discipline that create results on and off the mat so each wrestler can BE THEIR BEST.

Austin Fredrickson

Austin Fredrickson is a proud Glenwood native, entrepreneur, and founder of Southwest Iowa Dumpsters and RSF Construction.

With a strong commitment to hard work, integrity, and community, Austin has built both companies around dependable service and lasting relationships across Southwest Iowa.

A former multi-sport athlete, he grew up playing football and wrestled, experiences that instilled the discipline, teamwork, and perseverance that continue to guide him today.

Outside of business, he’s a devoted husband and father who has spent the last five years coaching youth football and wrestling—helping shape the next generation with the same lessons that shaped him.

Whether on the job site or on the field, Austin leads by example and takes pride in giving back to the community that built him.

Ronnie Kates

Ronnie Kates is a former wrestler from Glenwood High School. In the 2001-2002 season, he was named outstanding freshman of the year. His wrestling career included two undefeated dual team regular seasons (2004 and 2005), two third-place finishes at the State Dual Team competition, and two Conference Championships. He scored over 1,000 points in both the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons. He was a four-year varsity wrestler and a two-time state participant, achieving a ranking of sixth in the state during his senior year. Coach Kates recorded one of the fastest pins in Iowa and achieved 100 career wins.

Coach Kates credits wrestling with teaching him invaluable life lessons about perseverance, mental toughness, and the importance of pushing oneself to the limit. He believes the challenges he faced on the mat have helped him overcome adversity in life, and that the discipline and mental strength he gained through wrestling have made other challenges more manageable.
