The Best Wrestler — Santa Rosa, CA
Parents want the best for their kids. But where do you start?
It’s hard to know which club will truly invest in your child’s growth. Some rooms are overcrowded. Some only care about wins. Too many kids get burned out before they even reach high school.
At The Best Wrestler — Santa Rosa, we believe your child deserves more.
Meet your Coaches
Olympians, world team members, state champions — more importantly, they are committed to developing your child with discipline, toughness, and character.
Ken Coburn
Coach Ken Coburn – Head Coach & Program Director
Coach Ken Coburn brings a passion for athlete development, character building, and competitive excellence to The Best Wrestler program in Santa Rosa. With decades of leadership experience on and off the mat, Coach Coburn is committed to developing wrestlers the right way—technically, physically, and mentally.
Ken is the Head Wrestling Coach at Montgomery High School and the Director of Spring Hills Wrestling Club, where he has helped build one of the most respected and fast-growing programs in Northern California. Under his leadership, athletes have earned league titles, TOC qualifications, state placements, and national-level success, while learning the discipline and accountability required to excel beyond wrestling.
Coach Coburn has extensive experience developing youth, middle school, and high school wrestlers, with a strong emphasis on long-term athlete development. His programs are known for structured training, clear standards, and a culture rooted in hard work, humility, and team-first values. He believes that success on the mat is a byproduct of consistent effort, strong fundamentals, and high character.
In addition to his coaching background, Ken brings over 25 years of professional leadership and board experience, which influences his organized, intentional approach to program building and athlete mentorship. He places a high value on leadership, personal responsibility, and integrity—qualities he believes are just as important as wins and losses.
Coach Coburn is excited to partner with The Best Wrestler to provide athletes in the Santa Rosa area with elite coaching, proven development pathways, and opportunities to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
Coaching Philosophy:
Develop complete wrestlers—strong fundamentals, relentless work ethic, mental toughness, and character that lasts beyond the mat.
Trent Silva
Trent is the Head Coach of the Future Olympian Program. He began wrestling at the age of four and competed for 16 years, developing a deep passion for the sport that continues to drive my coaching today.
Trent is a California State Medalist and Doc Buchanan Tournament placer. At the collegiate level, he wrestled for Clackamas Community College, where he became a 2x NJCAA All-American and was part of two NJCAA National Championship teams.
After completing his education at Clackamas, he committed himself to coaching and developing the next generation of wrestlers. He has been coaching competitive youth wrestling since 2023, with a focus on building technically sound, disciplined, and mentally tough athletes.
Trent’s goal is to help young wrestlers grow both on and off the mat by instilling discipline, confidence, tenacity, and a strong work ethic—preparing them not only to succeed in wrestling, but in life.
Anthony Campos
Anthony is a coach with Spring Hills Wrestling Club and The Best Wrestler in Northern California and brings over a decade of coaching experience across multiple youth sports. Anthony’s perspective as a coach is shaped not only by experience, but by an understanding of how vital positive mentorship and structure are for youth. Having seen firsthand the impact that athletics can have at critical stages in life, he is passionate about providing young athletes with positive outlets through sport. He believes wrestling offers a unique opportunity to build discipline, accountability, confidence, and resilience that extend far beyond the mat.
